- Participated in most R/E transaction types: Land, office sales, office leasing, retail leasing, retail property sales, home sales, apartment building sales, industrial property sales and leasing.
- Represented the County of Marin in three library leases.
- Represented the County of Marin in locating, leasing, and building out of 12,000 foot AIDS facility including participation in ADA access issues and attaining zoning clearances.
- Represented Fetzer Vineyards in their move of corporate offices from Emeryville to San Rafael, subleased the remaining terms of their leases, found ancillary storage locations with different landlords, and handled expansion within the building with coinciding expiration for another of Brown Forman's(their parent company) divisions.
- Sold many investment properties to owners and investors, including main street retail, office properties, freeway frontage retail, light industrial buildings, industrial condominiums, storage yards and others.
- Represented owner/user buyers of many classes of properties, representation that included involvement with locale agencies in traffic, signage and permitted use issues.
- Retail leasing activity included sellers of flooring, furniture, clothing, computers, salons, motorcycles, and operators of pre-schools, vending equipment, restaurants and others. Landlord & Tenant Rep.
Real Estate Investor and Property Management, Self-employed Fall 1987-present
- Purchased and Re-built (including foundations, plumbing, and electrical systems) five small apartment buildings late 80's early 90's
- Refinanced each project after completion
- Managed those 30 remodeled flats and apartments and a few commercial spaces for 12-15 years.
- Extended experience as a principal gave me great insight into care and maintenance of buildings and the importance of the initial quality of construction.
- Serving as a property manager gave experience with ongoing communication regarding improvements, repairs, rent issues, and occupancy conflicts.
- I have frequently reviewed and advised a family upon lease, tenancy, and building maintenance on approximately 60k square feet of "High Street" retail and office properties in the Beverly Hills commercial triangle. I have no direct economic interest in these properties but I believe that my involvement for 20+ years has given me another important level of commercial real estate experience.
- My most recent "project" was the 2003 purchase and complete custom renovation of a Lake Tahoe vacation rental. That investment involved, kitchen and bath remodels, adding an extra bathroom, new flooring, and stair upgrades, custom wood work, and updating of electrical and heating systems. A Great Value in Lake Tahoe!
